JEFF ANDERSON
Jeff Anderson is an Urgent Care Physician here in the Charleston area. He grew up in South Carolina and has lived in Charleston since 1984. He and his wife Tammy have, together, helped raise his 3 children, her 3 daughters and now are raising Liam who is 6. He enjoys boating, fishing, cycling, and exploring lowcountry wildlife. He attended medical school at MUSC and spent over 25 years as an emergency physician. During this time, he witnessed first hand the ravages of alcohol and drug addiction. He is honored to be a part of the Phoenix Project and the opportunity to give back and be a part of something much larger than himself.
JOHN CATO
Chairman
​John Cato served in the United States Army and Georgia National Guard. Retired from the Transportation Department of the CSX Railroad and pursued a career as a General Contractor. Presently is the Owner of Palm Coast Cabinets. He has served on the advisory board of the Charleston Center. Currently serving as the Treasurer for Operation Rise Again and as Chairman of the Board for The Phoenix Project of South Carolina.
ANDY DEMASI
Treasurer
Retired commercial loan officer and business owner. Grew up in the Charleston area. Graduate of Bishop England HS and North Carolina State University. Married and father of three grown children.
KEVIN DOWNS
Vice Chairman
Kevin Downs is a highly credentialed and certified S.C. Licensed Addiction Counselor - Supervisor. He is the owner and operator of Charleston Addictions Counseling, a highly successful counseling practice in the Charleston area. His additional licenses are LAC, LPC-S, LPC, as well as a certified NBCC, MAC, SAP, CSAT, and CPTT.
Through multiple careers in Law Enforcement and as an International Investigative Attorney and, now, as a Licensed Addiction Counselor – he is intimately familiar with the extreme pain, fear, and loneliness that accompanies addiction.
JON GRESH
Jon Gresh is the head pastor of Lighthouse Church, located in Mount Pleasant. He and his wife raise two children - Ansley and Cade. As a native to the beautiful Charleston area, Pastor Gresh developed a passion to see the Kingdom of God explode here. He enjoys building relationships, being active in serving the community, outdoor recreation, and studying the Word of God together with others.
RICK LYNCH
Secretary
Rick Lynch is a 20 year Air Force veteran who is currently working in the Cybersecurity field for the Department of Defense. He has countless stories how alcohol and drug abuse of family and close friends, has negatively affected his life. A recent transplant to the south, Rick is looking to impact the local area hoping to affect the Low Countries growing substance abuse problem and those facing the country.
JONATHAN MARTINEZ
​Jonathan grew up in the Charleston area where he currently resides with his wife and his 10-year-old son. Jonathan is a business owner that serves Mount Pleasant and the greater Charleston areas. He has a strong faith and has been committed to his own recovery since 2009. Jonathan has made it his mission to serve his community through church ministries and helping others navigate their own recovery.
JACK STRAUCHON
Jack Strauchon is a longtime business owner and professional painter. He currently resides with his wife and is a family man. He has enjoyed living in the Charleston area since 1970.
